Reversal of Destinies – (Insights gleaned from Beth Moore ~ ‘Esther’)

“Not every irony is a reversal of destiny, but every reversal of destiny is an irony.”
Look at the study of Esther…the Jews were destined to be annihilated. However, when Esther and the Jews turned to God and gave themselves completely to Him, He stepped in and changed their destiny. Mordecai was one whom Haman especially wanted annihilated, but instead he became the one whom the king desired to honor. (Esther 1-6)
– Peter & John were simply fishers of fish….but became fishers of men. (Acts 4:13)
– Paul was a persecutor of Christians who became the persecuted. (Acts)
– The rich man has beauty on this earth but agony in the everlasting; The poor man has agony on this earth but beauty in the everlasting. (Luke 16:19-31)
The MOST IMPORTANT REVERSAL OF DESTINY??? That He who knew no sin BECAME SIN so that we could be righteous before God! (2 Cor. 5:21) That we have the gift of being rescued from darkness and transferred to the kingdom of His beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin… and we, who once had no mercy now have the gift of God’s mercy. (Colossians 1:12-13; 1 Peter 2:10) WOW!!! When you look at the cross in this light, as a reversal of OUR destiny – those who deserve hell – it puts a whole new perspective on it, doesn’t it?? What an AMAZING reversal of destiny!!!!
I am so thankful for the cross, and for Jesus who died for ME! and for YOU! I am so thankful that before I was even born my destiny had been thought of by my Abba Father, and that He chose His son to give His life for us so that we might have the gift of eternal life – all we have to do is Believe in Him and we will be saved, and our destiny will be reversed! (Mark 1:15; John 1:12; Acts 16:31)
I pray that 2010 will be a year of reversed destinies, and that whatever happens we will know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we have seen God and will be able to say “That has to be God!!!”
